Arsenal are reportedly interested in making a late move for Schalke 04 midfielder Max Meyer.

Arsenal are reportedly planning to launch a late move for Schalke 04 midfielder Max Meyer.

The North London outfit have seemingly been prioritising their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is reportedly closing in on a £60m switch.

However, according to Bild, the Gunners are considering a late charge for Meyer, who could potentially join the club for a relatively cheap fee given that his contract expires in the summer.

The report claims that Barcelona are also interested in the midfielder, who has played for Schalke his entire career after coming through their youth academy.

The German outfit have reportedly accepted that the 22-year-old will leave either in this window or at the end of the season.
