Poland's leading goalscorer backs Robert Lewandowski to start scoring for his country again.

Poland's all-time top goalscorer Wlodzimierz Lubanski has said that a lack of support from Poland's midfield is the reason why Robert Lewandowski has not scored since the first game of Euro 2012.

Lewandowski tops the Bundesliga scoring charts with 19 goals this term and Lubanski has backed him to start translating that form to the international stage.

"I am not blaming him: Dortmund and Poland are different teams," Lubanski told UEFA.com. "Robert gets more help from midfield and the wings at his club than he does in the national team. That means other players have to show more than they have done in recent matches.

"We all wish Robert a goal, but let's not put too much pressure on him because that could have the opposite effect."

"If it doesn't come on Friday, we can wait until Tuesday when we play San Marino. Poland will definitely have more opportunities then."

Lewandowski has scored 15 goals in 51 appearances for Poland.
