Yuto Nagatomo's second-half header is enough for Inter to claim their sixth win of the season and climb to seventh in Serie A.

Inter Milan continued their improved form by picking up their fourth league win in five at Genoa this evening.

Yuto Nagatomo scored the only goal in the 67th minute of what was a bitty encounter.

Genoa keeper Sebastian Frey denied Giampaolo Pazzini early on after the Italy international was sent free before Pazzini's strike partner Diego Milito was also thwarted by the Frenchman.

Former Wigan man Andreas Granqvist then had a goal disallowed after the break in a rare chance for the hosts. The Swedish defender was adjudged to have climbed on Brazilian Lucio before heading past Julio Cesar.

Claudio Ranieri's side finally beat Frey midway through the second period when Japanese wing-back Nagatomo met Ricardo Alvarez's cross at the back post.

Next up for Inter is a trip to struggling Cesena while Alberto Malesani's Genoa host Bologna.
