Juventus defender Lucio will miss up to six weeks of action after tearing his ankle ligament during a training session on Friday.

Juventus defender Lucio is facing a six-week absence after tearing his ankle ligament in training on Friday.

It was initially thought that the Brazilian could be missing for up to four months, but Sky Sport Italia have now reported that the injury may not be as bad as first feared.

Juventus went on to comfortably win their Serie A opener 2-0 against Parma without the 34-year-old.

Lucio signed for the Old Lady on a free transfer after his contract with Inter Milan was cancelled by mutual consent.
